I've tried on numerous pairs over the years but I never found a pair I wanted to keep on for more than a few minutes. Recently one of my friends mentioned that his pair of Lucchese boots are the most comfortable shoe he owns so I decided to try out a pair. Local shoe stores did not stock Lucchese boots so I ordered a pair on-line from Amazon.Normally I wear a size 11E shoe as I have a fairly wide foot. My wife told me her boots usually run a 1/2 size larger than the shoes she buys so I ordered a size 10.5EE. This size works perfectly allowing adequate room inside the boot to add a thin Spenco RX comfort insole which made the boots more comfortable to wear and break-in.
